Terms of Service

1. The service

Magnetask captures requests from tools you connect and turns them into tracked tasks. Features and plan limits are described on our pricing page and may change as the product develops.

2. Accounts and your team

You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. A workspace owner controls who has access and at what role, and is responsible for their team’s use of the service.

You must be at least 16 and use Magnetask for lawful, work-related purposes.

3. Connecting other tools

When you connect a tool such as Slack, you confirm that you are permitted to do so and to have its content processed as described in our Privacy Policy. Connecting a shared workspace affects everyone in it, so you are responsible for informing your team.

You can disconnect at any time, which stops all further access immediately.

4. Automated detection and AI

Magnetask uses automated logic and AI to decide which messages look like requests and to draft tasks from them. This is helpful but not perfect: it will sometimes miss a real request, and sometimes create a task from something that was not one.

Drafts are placed in a review queue for a human to confirm precisely because of this. Magnetask is an assistant, not a system of record for obligations. Do not rely on it as the sole means of tracking anything you cannot afford to miss.

Language support beyond English is offered on a best-effort basis and may be labelled beta. Accuracy varies by language.

5. Your content

You keep all rights to your content. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the service for you — to store, process and display it, and to share it with the providers listed in our Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your content and do not use it to train third-party AI models.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Magnetask to break the law, infringe others’ rights, or store content you have no right to. Do not attempt to breach or overload the service, reverse-engineer it, resell it, or circumvent plan limits.

We may suspend an account that puts the service or other customers at risk, and will tell you why where we lawfully can.

7. Plans, billing and cancellation

Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe on the interval you choose. Prices may change with at least 30 days’ notice before your next renewal.

You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for partial periods unless required by law.

If payment fails we may downgrade or suspend the account after notifying you.

8. Availability

We work to keep Magnetask available and reliable, but we do not currently offer a contractual uptime guarantee. We may change or discontinue features; if we discontinue something significant, we will give reasonable notice.

Connected tools are outside our control. If a provider changes their API or restricts access, some features may stop working through no fault of ours.

9. Ending the agreement

You may delete your account or workspace at any time, which deletes the associated data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may terminate for material breach of these terms, or with reasonable notice if we discontinue the service.

Export anything you need before deleting — deletion is permanent.

10. Disclaimers

Magnetask is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that detection will be accurate or complete — see section 4.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunity — including any task the service failed to capture.

Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as for death, personal injury or fraud.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will update the date above and notify account owners by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Magnetask after that means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, and the courts of the State of Delaware, United States have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
